Terms of service
Last updated: 19 August 2026
These terms govern your use of itskaori.com and anything you buy from it. By browsing the site or placing an order you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
In these terms, "Kaori", "we" and "us" mean the business operating from 105–3999 Henning Drive, Vancouver, British Columbia V5C 6P9, Canada. "You" means the person using the site or placing the order.
Who can order
You must be at least the age of majority in your province or territory, and able to enter a binding contract, to place an order. If you are ordering on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
Your account
You do not need an account to order, but you need one to manage a subscription. Keep your login details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at hello@itskaori.com if you think someone else has access to it. We may suspend or close an account that is being used fraudulently or in breach of these terms.
Orders
An order placed on the site is an offer to buy. The contract is formed when we send you a confirmation email, not when you click the button. We may decline or cancel an order, and refund you in full, if the item is out of stock, if there was a pricing or description error, if we cannot deliver to your address, or if we suspect fraud.
Once an order is placed we usually cannot change it, but we pack within two business days, so email us quickly and we will do what we can.
Prices and payment
All prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude taxes and shipping unless stated. Applicable taxes and shipping are calculated at checkout before you pay. Prices can change at any time, but a change never affects an order we have already confirmed.
Payment is taken at checkout through our payment providers. We do not see or store your full card details. If a payment is declined or reversed, we may cancel the order.
If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price, we are not obliged to sell it at that price. We will contact you, and you can confirm the order at the correct price or have it cancelled and refunded.
Subscriptions
If you choose a subscription, please read this section carefully.
- A subscription is a recurring order that renews automatically at the interval you chose — every month, every two months, or every three months — until you cancel it. There is no minimum number of deliveries and no cancellation fee.
- You are charged on each delivery, not upfront. The first charge is taken when you place the order, and each later charge on that delivery's date, using the payment method saved to your subscription.
- The subscription discount applies to each delivery while the subscription is active. If you cancel, the discount stops with it.
- You can skip a delivery, change the interval, or cancel from your account at any time. Changes must be made before a delivery is processed to affect that delivery; once an order has been created and charged, it is treated like any other order.
- We may change subscription prices, but not for a delivery already charged. We will give you notice by email before a new price applies, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
- If a payment fails we will retry it, and we may pause or cancel the subscription if it keeps failing.
- We may cancel a subscription ourselves if a product is discontinued or we can no longer supply it, and we will tell you if that happens.
Shipping and delivery
Shipping, delivery timing and what happens to a lost or damaged parcel are set out in our shipping policy, which forms part of these terms. Delivery estimates come from the carrier and are estimates, not guarantees. Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier delivers the parcel to the address you gave us.
Returns and refunds
Returns and refunds are covered by our refund policy, which forms part of these terms. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under British Columbia consumer protection law.
Our products
Kaori sells food. Please read the ingredients and allergen information on each product page and on the packaging before you consume anything, and do not rely on the site alone if you have an allergy or intolerance. Some of our teas contain caffeine, and that is stated on the product page.
We describe our teas as accurately as we can, but tea is an agricultural product and colour, aroma and flavour vary between harvests. Screens also render colour differently, so an image is an illustration rather than a guarantee.
Nothing on the site is medical advice. Our products are food and drink, not treatments, and we make no claim that they diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. If you are pregnant, nursing, sensitive to caffeine, or managing a health condition, talk to a healthcare professional before making a change to what you consume.
Using the site
You may use the site for your own lawful, personal purposes. You may not use it to break the law, interfere with its operation or security, scrape or harvest data from it, resell our products without our written agreement, or misrepresent who you are.
Our content
The Kaori name, logo, text, photography, illustration and design on this site belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may not copy, republish or use them commercially without our written permission. You may of course share links to our pages.
Anything you post
If you send us a review, photograph, comment or suggestion, you keep ownership of it, and you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce and display it in connection with Kaori. You confirm that it is yours to give and that it is not unlawful, misleading or offensive. We may remove content at our discretion, and we are not obliged to keep any of it confidential or to pay you for it.
Other websites
Where we link to another website we do so for convenience. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content, products or policies.
Availability of the site
We try to keep the site available and accurate, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, including any product, at any time.
Disclaimers and limits on our liability
Except where the law does not allow it, the site and everything on it is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
To the fullest extent the law permits, Kaori is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, arising from your use of the site or from any product you bought through it. Where we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the order the claim relates to.
Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under British Columbia consumer protection legislation.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Kaori against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of British Columbia, and you agree to that jurisdiction.
General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later. These terms, together with our privacy, shipping and refund policies, are the whole agreement between us. You may not transfer your rights under them without our consent.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published here when you place your order, and the date at the top shows when it last changed.
